It lives out in Metairie, strip malls off Veterans Boulevard and Causeway, Jefferson Parish rather than the Quarter or Uptown, because that's where the actual South Asian community settled, not St. Charles Avenue. Judge it like anywhere else — gravy built on real fond versus tomato paste and cream, biryani with separated dry-fried rice, naan that's charred not steamed — except temper expectations against Houston or Chicago's much deeper benches.
